Best LED light option

My halides are about done and time for new bulbs. If I'm wanting to switch to LED what would be the best brand to get. Wanting a mixed reef. The tank is a NEO DSA rimless 105g.

That's kind of like asking "what kind of new car should I get?". You're going to have as many different answers as their are brands of lights. [smilie=smile.gif]

A lot of the decision is going to depend on your budget. For example, the top of the line Ecotech Radion runs about $800 and you're probably going to need at least two. That alone eliminates that option for a lot of people.

Also do you want a controllable light? Do you have an Apex or other controller already or will you need to buy a controller just for the light? If you have an Apex you can control a lot of brands already using the 0-10v outputs. For the Ecotech or Aqua Illumination lights, though, you'll need to add the appropriate module to the Apex or buy one of their controllers.

You've got a few options. If you want to go with a nicer light you don't need to buy the $800 XR30. On a 105 you would be more than happy with either 2 XR15's or 2 hydra 26hd's. Both are going to give you full control and will have just a bit more power than what you truly need. If you want to go the non controllable route you can go along the lines of reefbright or the higher powered currents which actually are controllable, but very limited. If it were my tank to light up I would go the route of the hydra 26hd's.

Well bit the bullet and bought two radion-xr30w-G4 pros. Thank you all for your input hoping these bad boys grow some serious corals.
