Baby blue (Hippo) tang has ick problem!!!

Hi,
I've just recently introduce a blue tang into my tank... and being the neewb that I am I didn't quarantine the little guy. After two days I notice he is not eating much nor moving around a lot compared to the other fish. Today I notice his little body has some white salt pebles (ick) on it. I am afraid the little guy is not going to make it, but what I'm afraid most if him affecting the other fish. I have read many online forums and articles on how to solve the problem... and I think I'm going with the quarantine tank. The question is, do i have to quarantine my other 5 fish also? because that would require 6 QT which i don't have.? Or can I put them all in the same QT? sorry if im confusing anyone, but I would appreciate it if someone would kindly walk me through the steps I need to take to make sure my display tank is ick free, and that ALL of my fish are safe. Thank YOu

At this point you need a hospial/treatment tank. QT is for observing the new fish before introduction into the display tank. If you can get the tang out asap while it still has the spots on it you may be able to avoid treating all of your fish and leaving the tank fishless for 6 weeks. If not you need to treat all of your fish and fallow(leave fishless) the display tank. You can treat with hypo(salinity at 1.009), copper or quinine sulfate. I usually use copper and have used the Seachem product called Cupramine. It is very simple to dose, but you will need to get their copper test kit also. If you decide to hypo you will need to get a good refractometer, not the swing arm type but the ones that look like a small telescope. Good luck.
