Automatic Feeders

I have a neighbor who we're friends with trained to feed them.

He comes by, drops a frozen cube in a shot glass, puts in the fridge, and feeds the following night for me.

The problem with automating frozen is that you can't keep it frozen for the week you're gone and it goes to spoil...

Flake, etc, would be ok, but you run the risk of the feeder going haywire and dropping all the food in the tank at once.

I use an eheim auto flake feeder and have had excellent results with it. I leave usually twice a year for a month at a time and my fish always look fine when i return. I do feed my fish flake once a week just to keep them use to if for when i do leave.

The only negative thing i can say about the eheim is the mounting stinks.

I actually went away from the expensive multi programmable feeder to the cheap once a day feeder. I also stopped using flake foods(due to high phospate content) and went to the Dainichi brand of pellets that I get from Dane at Rift2Reef. I have it on the lowest adjustment setting and have never had a problem(except battery life). :) :)

Cheers,
