Are my candy canes ok?

So just a while ago i thought my sps were doing bad, but they're actually better than ever now. The garf bonsai is more purple than i've ever seen it w/ more polyps showing, and the green acro is still brownish, but it's definitely not dying.

Unfortunately, now i noticed something weird about my candy cane coral. They open and eat normally and healthy, but i've noticed that the tissue where they wrap around the branches, are slowly getting smaller. The botton of the branches are brownish, as if it's covered by algae... i guess that doesn't help them, but the area where there used to be some tissue is really really white x.x. Any help would be great. My only guess as of now is the algae irritating them.. but what can i do to help them?

The algae isn't hurting them, that is simply skeleton that has been exposed for a while. The new white areas is because of the coral slowly dying. You need to check all of our water parameters, do a good water change, and run some carbon or you will slowly lose it.

well, i've been checking frequently lately because of my sps' and it's been stable and well. i do regular water changes biweekly too.. when u say run carbon... that means add a carbon media to my filtration/sump? isn't that supposed to be bad

Are you calibrating your salinity device? This can be off while all water parameters show good. Speaking from experience........

well even if it runs up or down by 1-2, that's normal due to evaporation right? i use both a hydrometer and refractometer, so chances are it's pretty stable at 1.025
