Aqua illuminations LEDs DIY

So I got three upgrade kits for Ai the sol blues which come with the circuit board, LEDs attach to it , optics 40 and 70 degrees power supply , fan and splash guard so basically everything minus the heatsink and the plastic molding so since I can't I afford new module I got this at the fraction of the price and with a little work am good to go So for you diyers this might be the way to i might buy a fourth one if three is not enough

How much did you pay?

I found a place that will send you an ai sol blue for $482 shipped free

To bad the LEDs are attached I would like to change some of the cool whites to neutral whites. Pretty interesting where did you get the idea to do this rc or r2r

I have not seen any one else do this which is very surprising I figure alot of people would be doing this since it would be half the price I just wish I would of remember to get all of the optics 70 degrees I'll post more pics as put everything together

Reefleds on r2r honored premium aquatics 10% coupon after the sale. Send them an email they are easy to work with

Looks great! Did you order the heatsink and molding from them as well? They look like they fit really well.

They just announced the ai sol will be $399 and some new upgrades

Cool! That might work for me as I'm thinking I'm 6 months away from reconsidering LEDs!

The heatsink I got from heatsink USA $26 I should of got it from Ai assuming that it would been pre drilled and the top cover came from Ai it was $15 the only thing different was that the upgrade kit comes with small dual fans vs the one large fan on the sol. hopefully once the price goes down on the sol modules the upgrade kits go down as well And make the DIY kits under $200
