You may want to take a business ethic's course and re-examine the situation. [smilie=smile.gif] Our GB policy is actually written to help address similar issues that have occurred in the past right here on our site as well. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=65583

Cheers,

[smilie=wait.gif] I understand why it was stopped but Neptune should have stopped it be for they payed. That is what I had a prob with. Not that it was stopped but that Neptune waited like a week. Just my $0.02

What usually happens in these cases is that all of the sponsors who sell the same product and saw the GB, would start calling it in and complaining. That alone could take up to a week. The blame is on the vendor that tried to circumvent the rules that they agreed to abide by..... before selling the product.

Cheers,

neptune systems is not the problem here and should not be looked at as such. they are a great company with a really nice product that is not overly priced as it is. NS cant be expected to check every single reef forum there is each week to make sure there is not something incorrectly posted, so noone can blame them for a vendor or forum user who broke their rules just because it took them a month to find out. we have had several group buys for aqua controllers and received really good deals before, but all through a reputable dealer who follows the rules and therefore did not dissapoint anyone. im sure a GB could be started now and get fairly close pricing right here.

[smilie=wait.gif] Ok guys not trying to say its a bad company. Im just saying this could have been handled better. If you read the posts you will see Neptune did know about this around a week before the date they would pay. Yes Neptune did know the due date. But I will say in Neptune's deafens they did try to contact the GB organizer who was out of town and could not check his messages. In my opinion when Neptune did not get a reply they should have stopped the GB asap not waiting till the day after the money was sent. It was not the (28) costumers fault it was the sponsors. Neptune could have at least told them they would have to raise the price not just say to bad so sad they could have helped to make it right.

You are overlooking a few key point's namely the big one where the "phantom" sponsor also knew that Neptune was aware of the GB a week prior but still took the money. Once they took the money they had no choice but to make the order and bam......busted by the paper trail right back to them. You will notice that not once did the "phantom" sponsor attempted to make themselves know or apologize for what happened because they were flat out wrong on so many level's. The person starting the GB wasn't available so they had to see who made an order for 28 units first before acting.....really don't see what's wrong with that.

Cheers,

If im not wrong (witch to be honest I maybe) the sponsor is named a few time. (I quote post#222 "Just talked to Jose at Aquarium Works, and this is indeed dead. Neptune killed it. The problem was this got too big, and other stores were complaining to Neptune. He is going to go through and start issuing refunds today.") I may have missed it where did the sponsor know that Neptune know before the due date? And yes I did say the sponsor was to blame. My prob is the way Neptune handled it with the customers not the sponsor. The way it was handled lost 28 customers when Neptune could have made an offer of a discount or something and leave the sponsor out of it.
