Apex Question

Anyone else notice that the Apex will not boot with the Ethernet cable plugged in? I have to unplug the Ethernet cable, unplug the apex unit, wait for the status light to go green and then plug back in the Ethernet cable. Both of my units exhibit this behavior.

No, I don't have that problem. Mine is running via Cat5 (ethernet) from the router to the fishroom directly into the Apex. It's been like that for 1.5 years. Maybe we don't have the same situation since the Apex is plugged into a UPS to supply power if the electricity goes out, but I've had to switch over to generator power a few times and never had an instance as you've described.

I do not have the newest fusion capable firmware and have never had this problem. Mine has always been plugged in to an Ethernet cable and it's never not worked.

I have an Apex Jr. on each of my tanks. One is attached via a netgear access point and the other is cabled directly to a Cisco switch. Every time one loses power I have to unplug. Thanks, Maybe I'll go check out the neptune forums. Not really a big issue just curious is this is normal bahavior.

I know this thread is a few days old, so maybe you've already found the solution. I have an Apex Jr also and I had it connected originally through an access point, and now wired directly to a switch, and I've never had that problem with either setup. It's definitely not normal behavior.

Mine used to do that all the time so I hooked up a UPS. I called Apex and they said with the newest firmware at the time was 2 versions old it would fix the issue. I upgraded and bought the ups so never had ups die yet but incase it does i hope its fixed.
