Anyone using the Aquatronica Locally?

I have been giving some serious consideration to purchasing a system controller for my setup. I have been researching the different controllers on the market. I have read plenty of post on Reef Central concerning the different controllers. I have pretty much boiled it down to either the Aquacontroller II or II,or the Aquatronica. I have read plenty and have seen plenty of people using the Aquacontroller series of controller with good success. Since the Aquatronica is a new controller to the US, I was wondering if anyone locally is utilizing that controller? If so, what are you impressions of the Aquatronica?

Here is the link to the Aquacontroller III Pro, http://www.neptunesys.com/aquaController3Pro.htm.

I was looking recentrly also and decided with the AC II. I couldn't justify the value of the III Pro or the aquatronics. If I was choosing between the 2 I would probably go with the aquatronics.

i followed a couple of links for this Aquatronica controller but could not come up with a price.....how much is this controller?

The controller itself is $430. The Basic Package starts around $750. I know the Aquatronica is on the expensive side, but it doesn't use X-10 modules. It uses a Power Bar which is a coded power strip. I have read about alot of trouble using X-10 modules with the electronic Ice Cap ballast. Since I have 3 Ice Cap ballast, I need to look in another direction. I know Aquacontroller has the DC power stips now, but they too have had some problems with blown fuses and heat issues.

The aquatronics looks pretty nice and I like the power bar selections. I have 4 different electrical items that may interfere with the X10 modules at a minimum (and it's why I didn't get but 1 X10 recently) If I hadn't just gotten an AquaController, I'd be'a thinkin' real hard about the aquatronics model. :?

I've read a lot about both. The big downside to the aquatronica is that the powerbars are VERY expensive and to get the same amount of modules it makes the AC3 look cheap by comparison.

To avoid problems with the X10 controllers, get the DC4/DC8/DC4HD. They're hardwired control boxes that avoid all the issues with electronic ballasts.

It is kind of hard to avoid electronic ballast when I have 3 250 watt Sunlight Supply (Ice Cap) electronic ballast powering my lights.

Before you make any decisions; while at MACNA, I was talking to the representative for Neptune. I was informed that they are about to make an aquacontroller 3. This is essentially the ACIII pro with out conductivity and oxygenation. The best part about it; instead of the $800 price tag..... It is only supposed to be $400! :D
