Anyone know what this is?

Checking to see if anyone knows what this is. I can't remember the name of the coral it's on, but it just appeared there overnight. I'm not sure if it came from the coral or something built it there. My pictures aren't very good, so I'll try to describe it.

It almost appears to be a nest of some kind. It's white and looks like a thick spider web. It's round, about the size of a marble and hollow. Suspended in the center is a sack looking thing about the size of a pumpkin seed.

Anyone have any ideas?

No, it's not a galaxea. Can't for the life of me remember the name of it. The web has now broken apart and I can see that this is coming from the coral. Here's a couple of more pictures.

From the pictures it looks very much like a random sponge. I have several of those in my tank they usually come in white. pink and even yellow. The fact that they're growing on your coral is a problem. I would remove them the best you can and dispose of them

If it does turn out to be a sponge, I would suggest relocating it to an area in your tank away from corals. If you decide to "dispose of it", let me know and I'll come get it to add to one of my tanks. Sponges are living creatures and as such, I like to give them the opportunity to live.
