Anyone having issues with city water lately?

Not sure if it's my RO unit or city water.
I recently replaced all filters /resin on a 6 stage chloramine unit.
The water is coming out super slow. The Chlorplus carbon block turned Brown pretty fast. Within making one trash can of water. A week later a new sediment filter is turning brown already.
I don't have a hand held tds Meter but I have 15 before resin and zero out.
I remember about 10 years ago when lakes were pretty low the water was coming out the faucet brown.
Anyone having issues?

Not brown water, but on my 50gpd unit (BRS) I have a back flush on it which makes a big difference. I always back flush for about 20 min. If I try and make water with out a back flush the first gallon or so has about 20 tds in it. When I back flush before collection I have zero tds. Also, I use BRS resin which changes color, I am getting less than 2/3 (350 gallons to about 200 gallons now) use out of the resin than I did last spring. You really need a tds meter, they are relatively inexpensive on Amazon. Also, get the back flush kit, it's cheap and easy to install. BRS has a video about how to install it.

This time of year the water is very cold, and that slows production. A 100gpd membrane processing 50° F water will become 50gpd. If the first filter has discolored that much, I'd replace it with a new one. Sediment filters are the cheapest of them all. Also, stick to 5 microns so they don't clog up prematurely.

A couple things I found out. I think I got the backwash valve backwards for one thing. Hard to tell how long I've been doing that I guess I had it on backwash with valve turned in line and should be perpendicular. Lol.
Also I got a hand held TDS meter and my new water is reading 15-17 but my built in TDS meter reads 15-17 going into DI and zero going out.
Also my faucet water reads 400. Seems like very dirty water to me.

Appears to be operator error. I didn't run new filters/membrane to waste long enough. Now I'm getting tds zero on both. 13 before DI.
Back to normal. Crisis averted lol.

I'm right by you and get about the same out of the tap although my readings before the DI stage are closer to 8 usually.

For what what it's worth my experience lately has been bad my Ive had to replace all my filters on a 3 stage every few months. I'm in Dallas I also noted there a strange smell as well even when my TDS is 0 at the 3 month range. I've never had this problem until spring 2014.

Just checked my water, it was over 600 at the tap. I've never seen it that high. Usually when the lake gets low it runs around 400. My water comes from NTMWD.
