Anyone have experience with MightyMite RO/DI?

I was thinking of picking one of these up. http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1MMDI

It doesn't have an auto shutoff valve. Will that be a problem?

Chuck,

For $99 you might as well get the real deal unit. It's everything you need and allows you to have 3 -5 gallons of RODI in storage.

Yes, I have one and it's work great for over a year. The only drawback is not having the clear canisters that are on the more expensive units. Which is easily solved by having a inline TDS meter.

I don't have an inline, but I do have the little handheld one. I assume that'll work just as well (with a little more effort)

bill, how often do you have to replace the filters? I am sure that with water in this area, they wouldn't last a year. I assume they would need to be changed about every 4-6 months.

I also saw this from the same seller. http://tinyurl.com/8byvc 59.99

Do you think the tank is worth $40.00? could I get a tank locally for cheaper? Would I even be able to hook up a tank to the less expensive model?

I change my filters once every 8 -12 months (Sherman=Bad Water)

I didn't use the tank for over a year until last week and now I couldn't have one with out it. It's so nice having water ready to go and plus the girlfriend only drinks the pure RODI water so it makes it easy to fill up a glass. It's not a big tank 3-5 gallons, but it can get in the way if you don't have room for it.
