Any sump builders?

My wife cracked the top edge of our sump last night. Is there anyone in our club that is good at building sumps? Mine is pretty small. Please reply is you would be willing to build one. I am more than happy to pay for materials and your time. Thank you.

It measures 24 long, 11 inches wide, 16 inches tall. I would like to have one exactly like the one I have now with one exception. I would like to change the size of one chamber within the sump. I want to use one chamber as a refugium.

I have received one recommendation, but have not been able to get in touch with him. Anyone else know someone who I could have build a sump / refugium with the dimensions listed above?

Ok it looks like I am gonna be forced to do this myself. Since time is kind of critical in keeping my living room dry. Does anyone know the best drill bit type to drill the intake hole? How easy it is to drill acrylic?

I am NOT an expert in working acrylic, but I have drilled more than my share of pieces...

I've used regular wood hole saws... Be VERY careful though, if it gets crooked and "catches" it WILL crack the piece very easily...

I'm sure that's not the proper bit to use, just relaying what I've myself done...

(Hole saws for bigger holes, just regular general purpose drill bits for smaller holes, of course)

Have you contacted Marc?

The dimensions are about the same as a 20 Tall tank (12" wide but that includes the removable band).

Adding glass baffles is fairly simple (the hardware stores will cut to fit).

BTW, Marc also has some good DIY Sump building pages on his site:

I sent Marc a PM earlier. I have not heard from him yet. I would be willing to pay him to do it. I am sure he would do a much better job. I am just worried about my sump leaking. Then again if I did it myself I would be worried about it leaking too. Hopefully Marc will get a chance to contact me.

David @ Trigger Systems also has some nice options in a variety of sizes and configurations. You can order online at a few different etailers and pick up at his residence or buy direct from some LFS around.
