Any success stories with Goniopora?

Years ago, within a few months I ignorantly killed a couple of goniopora corals before I learned they were impossible to keep. However, this article I just found is informative and optimistic-

Does anyone have any experience with these lovely LPS's?

that is a very interesting read. thanks for sharing

i have always wanted to keep a rose colored one, kay had one for years and i just loved it

might just have to look for the right species and see how i do in the near future

I've never had a Goniopora but have been successful in keeping an Alveopora for a few years. They're very similar to Goniopora but only having 12 polyps verses 24.

Here's the only picture I have of it. I don't target feed any corals; just feed the tank with the main pump turned off for 1/2 an hour.

There is a red one that is aquacultured that tends to do much better. Frank has a big one in the 265 right now I think. Its a pretty coral for sure and I have heard of others on RC with reds what they have had for a few years. As Mark said, target feeding a bit of luck of the draw seems to do it.

What went away, the fish or the coral?  My clown thinks this is an anenome and is always feeding it.

I've had a red with blue tips goniopora for a couple years. It was actually one of the first LPS I bought, and it has done fine. I've rarely target fed it, seems to do okay without target feeding.

Charlie, you're definitely doing something right. Is the tank allowed to have nutrients remaining in the water that maybe the goniopora likes?
