I just purchased 4 48inch sunpaq pc's 2 actinics and 2 day lights to add to my 400 watt MH.
My question is has any one ever used this brand before, and if you did how did you like them. Im trying to find some reviews on them.
If you are referring to the Current USA brand, yes I have. That is all I use in the lighting unit I have. I guess I could go cheaper but for PC bulbs they are pretty good.
Yes, I am currently using them on 4 tanks and have a light for a 5th which is also based them.
Attempting to get new bulbs now - may I ask where you acquired yours (and price if you don't mind sharing - I ordered 2 from Marine Depot @ $27 I think)? Sharky's Reef is supposed to be sending 4 more at $23 each but they seemed a bit vague on if the brand is SunPaq (they haven't received yet so can't say for sure)
Edit -- All of the fixtures I have use the 22" bulbs.
I have a current outer orbit fixture and use sunpaqs for the pcs. For the HQI MH, however, I use a Phoenix 14k bulb, the sunpaq mh bulbs in my opinion are not very good.
I replaced mine this summer with the sunpaq and I noticed a difference. The tank seemed to be brighter. I had the cheap ones and I like the sunpaq much better.
I spen 175 for the 48 2 actinc 2 powerglo reto fit system from marine depot. I have them installed with my 400W xm 20K and the over all color is great all my corals are racting very well so far.
