Any one ever used / use AQUATICLIFE Fixtures?

Just curious as to what your thoughts are on these fixtures mine is a 72" 12 Bulb T5 with night LED's ..... Well first off i bought it at a well known LFS get the first one home (mind you its a 20-25 min drive) plug it in cool it works well later that night as the LED's are on i look over 2 sets are out and not working GREAT [smilie=devil.gif] Call LFS there going to order another I wait 2 days and drive the 20-25 min drive pick up the NEW one (in a box my first wasn't) get it in the car drive back home 20-25 min drive unload open box only to discover that its the wrong one GREAT [smilie=devil.gif] I call LFS there # shut off ???? so i pack it back up the next day drive the 20-25min drive walk in and state that this is the wrong one this is 8 bulbs mine is 12 bulbs . Now this is all after i buy a 400 dollar fixture that i was told would cast light over my 125g and set it up and turn on and well guess what it doesn't i took that back and got the AQUATICLIFE fixture ...So i say hey this is killing me in GAS and TIME can i just get my MONEY back save us both the hassle ... he proceeds to tell me theres NO RETURNS .....?????? well thats a CROC... He says he will order the right one so i take the first 12 bulb fixture back home 20-25mins set it up and wait 3-4 days for the new one. Well LFS calls light is in so i drive 20-25mins take the first broke one back get the new correct one drive 20-25mins back home unload , unpack and set up... Finally it works and is right ..... NOT JUST YET [smilie=devil.gif] Well this morning i wake up all lights are off so i walk over press the blue button makes a weird noise and one side flashes once the other comes on huh??? so i call LFS he tells me a whole lotta nothing try this and try this know its none of these things ... I'm mad .. i hang up ... i go pull it down lay it on ground flip it over press button nothing on one side press nothing press nothing wiggle jiggle nothing so i put it back up press button the thing comes on WTF??? well just now i walk over to turn the whites / daytime off press button the fans go off but the light stay on WTF?? i unplug plug back in the whites come on but no fans press whites button fans come on press it again fans go off lights stay on .....so i just unplugged it now everything is in the dark ....... So what do you guys / gals think should happen in this case i paid over $800 for the fixture lots of time lots of gas lots money !!! please any input ... And once again this is a LFS im sure everyone here uses. [smilie=angry.gif]

Sorry to hear you are having such a bad run of luck and having issues with the LFS you are dealing with.

I've always had very good experience with Aquaticlife fixtures and am running a pair of them over my tank. I had the same issue you did on the LED lights and also needed a leg support bracket. I always just called up Aquaticlife directly and they expedited parts out to me free of charge. Everything in the timer controlled fixtures is modular so if you are handy with a screwdriver, it is pretty easy to replace a ballast or even the timer/control unit so that you don't have to ship the unit back.

I did have a PC fixture when I started and had a ballast go bad on that. Called them up, gave them the serial number, they verified it was under warranty even though I bought the thing off e-bay, and they sent me a free ballast free of charge. I'd just call their tech support folks tomorrow morning.

Dang i have had good luck with my AquaticLife fixture. I would talk to AquaticLife and see if you can go threw them instead of the LFS.

Mke sure all of the bulbs are in correctly, secure and twisted evenly in both ends.
If not, the fixture may not work at all.

Its frustrating to see LFS that are sponsors of the club go out of their way to make the hobby difficult and expensive for people.... Its hard to find good customer service but its out there, if one sponsor doesnt offer it try another.

Not sure if this got remedied but you know aquatic life has a life time fixture guarantee. So if your lfs that you bought it doesn't fix the situation tell them you want to speak to their rep if they don't comply call aquatic life
