go to home depo and buy a small pot.. put him it in...

Once he adheres to it start moving him slowly..

stop the tank flow while he adjust.. do not mess with him to much.,..

once you get him in the pot he will fill safe.. then you can slowly put him were you want him
 
how long have you had him? did he just start this or has he always acted like this.? what are your tank specs and parameters? do you hav any pics?
