Is it advisable to have a anemone in a small tank. I have a 10G tank and am planning to put couple of clown fishes. If so anybody know what anemone we can put and weather it is reef safe...
It's not really advisable to keep them in a small tank, unless that tank is plumbed into a much larger system. Anemones want a very very stable system, and you can rarely provide that with a tank less than 6-8 months old and 50-60g in size.
Doesn't mean it can't be done, just very very difficult for most of us.
you might be okay with some Condies. I kept one in a 20h for years but they are pretty hardy. I definitely wouldn't try it with a sebae, bubble tip, long tentacle or carpet.
I have a green tip anemone thriving in a 33 gallon cube. I would be catiuos to try a bta in anything smaller though. My lighting on that tank is 150 metal halide.
