Anemones and nano cubes

Hi I just got these awsome clownfish that I Absolutley Adore! Unfortunatly thay have taken to hosting my xenia who seems to be a little less than thrilled(if a xenia can thrilled or not :D ) It seems to have shriveled down to about a 1/3 or its original size! I was told that I really should get an anemone. But I am not sure I can keep one in a 12 gallon nano with stock lighting. I am not planning to keep the clowns or the anemone in the nano because my family plans to put in a massive tank(it keeps getting bigger every time we discuss it) for chrismas with my parents putting the tank in and me stocking it. So it would only be in there a few months.

Any advise would be great.
thanks

With stock lighting no! Plus water quality has to be pristine for them and that is tough in a nano. Even if you did get one there is no promise they will host in it. A long time ago I had a pair hosting in some mushrooms and when I got it an anemone, nothing, still hosted the mushrooms. It did that for about 6 months before I sold that tank.

Just hold out until the big tank with better lighting. Anemones are very difficult animals. So the proper setup is a must.

If you want more xenia I'm sure you can get some more if that dies as it grows like a weed!

You also might want to try a frogspawn or a hammer. They will usually host in these and don't really mind the clownfish residents.

I like the "frogspawn or a hammer" becaue I was not to keen on having an anemone anyway. Both corals are very pretty and I hope I can find some at a decent price.

thanks

I know someone who's clownfish have hosted in a colt coral for years. But after time the xenia make get used to them and look better anyways.

Our false percs weren't interested in our BTA. My husband didn't feed them for a while, then lured them with some silverside before sticking it halfway in the anemone's mouth.

The clowns wanted the silverside but weren't sure about touching the anemone. Withina few minutes they started hosting and now guard that whole side of tank!
