Alk dropping faster then calc?

Ok I have been using kalk for about a month now... my coraline is exploding!
I have gotten where calcium stays exactly the same. (Fully saturated solution)
425ppm on Sunday... 425ppm on the next sunday...
The only problem is my alk drops way faster! I thought they drop together???
My alk on Sunday is 9.6dkh and on the next Sunday it will be 8dkh..... but the calcium stays the same!

What could be the problem?

I use a skimmer, fuge (24/7 light)...

Wouldn't the calcium be dropping as well if magnesium were off?

I was having the same issue, but I attribute the problem to the crappy Kent salt I was using. I should get a handle on it with the next couple water changes.

During the kent salt woes, I had high calcium and could not for the life of me get the alk up.
I read on RC that low magnesium would prohibit buffers from the balance we normally find between alk and calc

I tested and found my mag was indeed very low, boosting the mag helped but nothing corrected the kent alk void

Man I have been holding off forever on getting a magn test kit... I just hate to pay 23$ for a test kit I might only use once, if my numbers are ok.. lol

You could take a water sample to your lfs and have them test it, if they perform water test. That would be cheaper than buying the whole test kit.
