Here are some pics of my journey into the great hobby of reef keeping. I originally had a freshwater tank and really didn't keep up with it. Thanks to some fellow friends of mine who currently have reef tanks for talking me into it. Thanks to all who have helped me out along to way as well.

Pic taken around November 21. About 3 weeks of cycling with 10 lbs of LR, about 25 lbs of live sand and substrate. I picked up a green striped mushroom from Frank's Tank to see how it will do.

So far, things are going well. I haven't had any major problems yet. Hopefully everything will start growing more and as time goes on I will be adding more and more to the tank. I'll post more pics maybe next month to compare how things are shaping out. I will be adding a skimmer soon, i'm just going with my penguin biowheel for now. I also plan on getting a Koralia 1 and get rid of the Maxijet 400. If anyone knows what would look good in here, I'd like to hear from you. I'm new to corals and SW keeping in general, so I'm open to ideas/advice.

Alex, the light looks great over the tank! Keep up the good work. Might look into a koralia 2 for the flow in that tank. Dont think a nano or 1 will work very well.

Making good progress! The new lights definitely make a difference. That monti should color up nicely for you under them. Just keep on top of the alk/ca/mg and things should grow well.
