Advertise your frags here - Picts. or desc. of frags for frag swap

[In anticipation of the Frag Swap I have been making some frags and deciding on which corals I no longer want in my tank so I will be bringing them also. I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to show pictures of corals or descriptions of corals that everyone plans to bring. This will hopefully generate interest and possibly making trading a little easier.

Lets try to keep this thread to be mostly pictures and descriptions. If you have general questions about a coral that will be benefitial for all viewers ask. If you are trying to inquire about the coral to set up a trade use email or PM.

Okay, Here is what I have to bring so far the listing matches the picture starting at the top and going to the right.

[Want some opinions please....

I have a volleyball sized rock covered in various mushrooms. Would I be better off fragging all the shrooms or trying to sell it as a single piece?]

[sorry to be a little bit off the subject.....

concerning this frag swap, are participants bringing non-livestock dry goods and hardware to sell also?
If yes, I'd like to see a possible list....]

[An announcement will be posted & emailed by Barry this evening with all the details.

If you are planning to bring frags, it would be best if you fragged 7 days early so the pieces can recover and heal a bit before you take them to the swap. If you mount them, it may make it easier for the new owner. ]

[Everyone in attendance can purchase raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are $1 each. If you are a DFWMAS member, you get 15 tickets for the price of 10 tickets (5 extra chances to win, for free!).

The raffle items are available to be looked over just before the raffle starts, and once the winning number is chosen, the person can select what they'd like. It is pretty much on the honor system, in that each individual should select what will indeed do well in their tank. A person with a brand new tank would probably want a new fish over a delicate SPS coral, for example. Winning tickets continued to be drawn until there are no more prizes left.]

[I would really like to trade for acros or cool zoos but will post prices anyway!

I will have at least two of each of these acros.

Blue tip ($20 each)

[I will be trying to scrounge up some red mushrooms for the event, some GSP and WSP, and I'll probably bring some Cheatomorpha as well. I stripped my tank down quite a bit for the coral propagation workshop, and had a few SPS RTN on me lately.

My frags will run about $5 each, unless it ends up being a trade.]

[I'm bringing black and red mangrove pods that I got from Belize. They have roots, but haven't shot stems yet.
Approximately 15 of them

2 - 96W PC retros, workhorse ballast all wiring, and reflectors. One with 10k bulb, one with no bulb
1 - 96W PC retro built inside of a 36" flourescent housing that fits standard tank tops. 10k bulb.
1 - Magnum 350 canister filter with micron cartridge and carbon container.
1 - Coral Banded Shrimp
1 - Aquaclear 75 skimmer
1 - 65 gallon breeder tank, non RR, small stand

Maybe:
2 x 250W metal halide ballast, cords, and sockets

Looking for LR.]

[It seems that my picture links got changed.

Here are my pictures of frags again. If any administrator can correct my original post and delete this that is fine.

[I hope to pay some cash for some frags for my tanks since I am just starting out and don't have any corals to be able to frag off. I do have a couple of small new birth mushrooms that I plan to bring to keep mushrooms from overtaking my tank. I will prob. just give them away. Only thing I am concerned of is missing my chance at stuff as I have read about what happened last year. Also I am somewhat new to corals and will prob. be lost at what is what and such. Anyway I hope to learn alot like I try for at the other meetings.]

[Do we have any idea how many people could show up for this? I can probably come up with 100 frags to sell, but I don't want to do that without a pretty good idea of whether or not there will be enough buyers for all, or at least most that will be there.]

[Steve, we have 220 members. The more we talk up this event, the more that can attend. Be sure to post the info on Reef Central in our club forum there, for those that aren't reading our site.

Our meetings over the past few months have had 60 to 80 people in attendance. Bring yer frags! Now is not the time to hesitate, it is the time to participate. The more that get involved 100%, the better the Frag Swap will be.]

[Steven, there is a chance that Reef Sanctuary does not allow remote linking and your images may come and go as they please. If nothing else, I'll put them on my site so the images stay visible.]
