adding ozone

I adapted my air intake of my skimmer. I have an air pump pushing air through the ozonator and then into the skimmer. On the skimmer external overflow container where the air comes out of it, I have a bag of carbon sitting. This filters out the excess ozone before it gets into the air. Then I have an orp probe hooked up to my AquaController that turns the ozonator on or off depending on the orp reading.

I added a tee and small air valve to the air input of my skimmer's venturi. I adjust the valve so that the venturi pulls ozonated air into the venturi. My Lifereef skimmer also has the feature to recirc the air from within the collection cup (the other input to the venturi tee), so I chose not use a perforated cup lid with a bag of carbon.

I dont have mine yet, but it should be added soon. It will go into the beckett of my skimmer and be hooked up to a ORP controller.

Injecting thru the skimmer is the best method. Just have a bag of coconut carbon on the tiop air hole in your cup to catch any excess, and a bag of carbon (any kind) to remove any residual carbon from reentering your tank. Without a doubt, use a controller!

You can also use a ozone reactor, but most use the venturi intake of the skimmer. If you have a Remora, you are screwed.
