ACjr - Wavemaker

Is anyone using there ACjr as a wavemaker? If so can you post your config settings? Also, what powerhead are you using (Koraila, Tunze-Nano Stream, or MJ)? Are there any advantages to using one over the other?

Thanks for the help,
Bill

i was using it when i had Koraila's i was just using the program that was already in it. only prob with using Koraila's is in the beginning they will most likely make a clanking noise when they are turned back on after a while mine stopped making the noise some one said u can make a little rubber washer and put it in on the shaft and it keeps it from clanking but i never did it

I'm using the AC Jr as a wave maker for my Koralia 3s, using the standard OSC example in the owner's manual with a 5 minute interval.

OSC 5/5 ON/OFF Then PH1% ON
OSC 5/5 ON/OFF Then PH2% OFF

I also have them set to turn off when my actinics do to give the critters some calm at night and help reduce wear and tear on the powerheads. (this part is still a bit wacky and I'm not sure if it's the best way to accomplish it)

If Timer ACT = OFF Then PH1 OFF
If Timer ACT = OFF Then PH2 OFF

I'll have to look into the rubber washer idea..those things start driving me crazy when they clatter!

I have a ACJr and I am using this feature on my single Seio 820.
RND 30/20 ON/OFF --> powerhead ON, have not had any issues.

I will plan changing that powerhead to a TUNZE 6025 and plan on rewriting the program to the following:
OSC 10/20 ON/OFF --> powerhead ON

I had posted a question on RC (TUNZE forum) about using timers on non-controllable TUNZEs and Roger suggested the powerhead be OFF for at least 15 minutes before being turned on again. I planned on using them in this fashion.

I am using a Red Sea Wavemaker as well on Modded MJ and is holding up like a champ.
