ACJR Question on control and equipment

ok... I will be buying a acjr within the next few days....and it will come with the DC8 and probes....as far as my lighting i will have my MH lights and I was wanting to put lunar lights on it as well for the moon phasing.... will this also be controlled through the dc8 where i can plug it in or do I need another component? if so what do I need? and can I get it locally?

another question comes to mind... i was thinking on using 2 koralias on this build to utilize the wave maker function.... Has anyone had any problems with the koralias not starting with the acjr soft start feature? If it wont....can you recommend another circulation pump?

There are 2 ways to do it. You can use a 15w incandescant blue aquarium bulb and X-10 lamp module, or you can use the dimmable LED's from Neptune.

thanks for the info

You can also just use those DC LED modules plugged directly into the DC8, if you don't care about a true moon cycle.

Mine are DIY LED moonlights with a wall wart power supply plugged into my DC8. I would like to try 1 of the methods utilizing the moon cycle timer. Just haven't gotten there yet.

koralias will work on wave motion but might make clicking sound on start up for a while, there is a mod u can do by adding lil rubber spacer and that will make it quiet i have mine on wave motion just lil fyi make sure u have the flow thingy gard on or while the one pump is off a fish can get into the pump dont want fish blender

numerous start and stop cycles will burn out Koral's prematurely if they aren't intended for use on a timer.

Not sure I beleive that , knowing how ac motors work.

With that said my #3's work excellent on the soft start plugs. I don't get any wave action but alternate every 10 minutes the direction, actually goes say Left for 5 minutes, then both for 5 minutes, then Right for 5 minutes.
