Accidentally Hurt my Condy

Yeah well as the title says... I was in a hurry to clean my tank before work and was using a different siphon hose (smaller width so it would be strong enough to get the fish poo) and the Anemone was on the back of a rock.. I moved the rock forward and as I was making sure it didn't fall forward on the acrylic and scratch it, the hose kind of made a beeline for the anemone...

It kind of siphoned on a few of his tentacles and when I realized it they had shriveled up and turned dark brown. The anemone was out and about and happy and how he's hiding again, probably all shrivelled up behind there (Can't see him at all) and I don't know what he's going to do. Apparantly the Condys are really good about healing. I mean I didn't accidentally suck all of him up, and nothing tore off, probably about 1/8-1/10 of his tentacles.. He has no competition so should I just try feeding him tomorrow to boost his strength and healing?

I wouldn't worry about it.. keep to the same schedule you had going.. tentacles being chopped off doesn't seem to hurt them much, except for the potential of secondary infection. Just keep an eye on him / her / it.

Well after pouting and pouting last night he came out. Still debating on whether or not to feed him. He's not too terribly big so 2x a week should be okay right? Its so tempting and fun to feed him every day though! Especially since whenever I try to stick my hand in there with a shrimp for him, the puffer grabs it from me.. :D

Puffer is so cute though. Yesterday morning he had killed one of the hermit crabs and had thrown all the pieces over a rock. I came in and he picked up a piece, came up to me, and I swear he smiled.... right before tearing into it like a puppy with a bone. It was so cute I that I couldn't get mad at him.

I think last night I tried graduating him to bigger chunks too soon.. He's been looking nice and big and lovely, but he spit out his shrimp for the crab to eat. I think it was just a little bit too big of a piece. Shame on him for rejecting my hard earned pieces of shrimp!

I think they get more nutrition from the little stuff that floats within their reach, smaller foods, like frozen Mysid, small bits of Krill, and just the crumbs messy fish leave behind. I know its fun to watch them grab a big hunk of meat and munch away, but I think the bigger pieces may just get regurgitated later, perhaps after the lights go out. Then the crew disposes of it before the light come back on so we don?t notice it. But I do love to feed them. I have a long grabber tool (Home Depot) That I use to drop a piece of Silverside right in front of them and watch them go for it. My large BTA is named Semore, after the plant in ?The Little Shop of Horrors.?

He's placed himself right in one of the more dead-spots as far as feeding goes... The food that gets dropped in falls on the opposide side entirely and I've seen him munch a few pieces of brine shrimp...

Is forumula two good for anemones? I've heard of people being all "I give my nem a wad of XXX flake/pellet food" and I don't want to find out the hard way if its too... salady for him. I'm such an anxious mother.

Another thing you can do when your nem roosts in a dead spot is squirt the thawed frozen food to him with a long turkey baster.
