[I know you guys love to come up with new ideas for your sump, so I took some pictures of a sump I built for Larry recently. He needed this to fit under a 200g reef, and have room for an external pump.

In order to set up the sump the way he liked, I made this one with a channel running behind the refugium.

Sump - Model H

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I hope to add more pictures of it installed to help clarify how it was plumbed.]

[Marc,

At some point I would like to discuss designing a sump for a new 180 gal tank that I am planning. It will be a Miracle Mud refugium like the one that I already have on my current tank but with a built in skimmer section.

Would also like to talk about building an auto top off system that uses siphon only, no moving parts. It has been in use for 3 years now without a single problem. The company that makes the one that I currently have has gone out of business.

My only problem is finding the time.....

David]

[No problem. I know the siphon system - Nurse, right? Evan has an auto top off that uses an air pump to force water out of a sealed container. That works well too.]

[Here is one more sump that I built recently. This is similar to the "Side Sump" on my site, but the refugium is in the rear.

Sump: Model J]

[Nice fix on the teeth in model j sump. You can hardly tell. I was hoping somewhere in there I might see a pic of my sump in the works. I will just have to wait til tonight. :D]

[Your sump will be the next webpage I make.]

[Marc,

When someone comissions you to build a sump, does the include bulkhead and drilling? I need a new sump badly, and I will be contacting you at the beginning of March to get one built. I just need to know if I need ot provide the builkhead.]

[Yes, buy your bulkhead that you want me to use, and I'll drill the hole for you. I've never charged anything to drill the hole. I have picked up bulkheads, like for the Model J above. I just went to PetOrama and bought one, and the buyer reimbursed me.]

[Such a nice sump and once again Marc has built another awesome sump. I can't wait to get it installed and forward you a pic Marc.] said:
[Chris, let me know what happens with the bioballs. You know, you might not even need them.

Remember, new plumbing generates microbubbles for 14 days until things slime over.]

[Marc,

I am now ready to start the design for a sump for a 180 gal aquarium that I am planning on building. I would like you to assist with the design and building. Send me a PM when you are available.

Thanks,

David]

[Marc--my hubby has told me to contact to you order a refugium. I guess I've been stalling on setting up my 105 because I cannot find a premade one that will fit into the cabinet. Either they are too small or too big. Please contact me when you get time.

Thanks,
Kat]

[I sent you an email with my email address in it.]
