90g protein skimmer

i've been prepping to buy equipment for my new 90g that dvups1 is building for me and one of my first concerns is the protein skimmer. there's so many brands with even more models now, it's ridiculous. i was hoping to summon the combined knowledge of DFWMAS members in giving me some guidance on what'd be a good choice on a skimmer, along with a pump [smilie=itwasntme.gif]

SWC 160 or Bubble Magnus NAC6. Both are rather inexpensive and have "Da Powah"

Vertex IN-100 is an dang good one as well.

I put a SWC 160 online in my system about a month ago and I am beyond pumped. Would def. go with a cone skimmer where the pump is housed below the bubble plate, it will save you a ton of space in the sump.

As far as I'm concerned, a potential skimmer buyer w/90 gallons should look no further than the SWC or the new Super Reef Octopus XP1000, both are very comparable in performance, size and price. PM if you need details on where to order them.

sorry for the late reply, but thank y'all for your responses! i ended up getting the swc xtreme 160 cone after i saw the first reply, haha. it'll be coming in this wednesday, along with a 160g bucket of seachem reefsalt and 100gpd buckeye field supply premium RO/DI unit + refractometer. i am planning to get an eheim 1260, 2 mp40w, and possibly an evolution led 200w 3G; what do y'all think? i am very open to any and all opinions!
