79 degrees to high?

No not at all, just keep it around there. Not up to 79 and then down to 75 the swings up and down are worse than a steady temp. I deal with heat, so mine stays in the 79-81 area.
 
I have had this tank for over two years now. The temp usually swings from 77 to around 79.5. I have been fighting low PH for around two months now. I just wanted to make sure that the temp was not to high for a good dissolved oxygen level causing my ph to drop. It seems like when I do a 30 - 40 % water change the PH comes up for half a day then drops back down. Just one big jigsaw puzzle. I am not a know it all in this hobbie, but far from a newbie. It is just one more learning lesson once I figure this out.

Around 14 dkh......yes I know it is high. I am working on bringing it down a couple of points.
