4th times a charm?? God I hope so...

I caught this guy (a polyclad flatworm) trying to make a meal out of a large turbo snail.. I have removed 4 from my tank so far.. I caught one on a rock, one on a cake urchin, one on my mine urchin and now this one... I hope my crocea clam is finally safe...

How big is that thing? It looks fairly large! I hope that's the last one you have to deal with too! They sound like a pain

This one was about 2 1/2"... The largest I have caught was around 4 1/2".. I believe it/they were hitchhikers on my original live rock some 3+ years ago.. I lost two derasa clams during a 6 month span as well as countless snails and conchs ... I believe the culprits to have been the polyclad flat worms.

Yes, that's a predatory flatworm. http://melevsreef.com/id/lg_flatworm.html

I have none of those in my tank. I think. So, I'm looking for two nice starter clams at MACNA. Nothing toooo finicky about nitrates. Tridacnas?

Derasa would be my suggestion, at least 3" in length so that it does not really need a lot of phyto as I read the smaller ones rely more on phyto for food. I had one when I started under PC lights on the sand bed and it grew like crazy.

OK..5th times hopefully a charm..just caught another on a rock that I could pull and dip in fresh water... I pulled its exploded corpse from said rock and now maybe my clam and snails will be safe!!

I think I fragmented the first one into multiples.. I'm going to get some smaller turbos and keep an eye out for "empties"..
