Im already mostly Done with the build but i figure I would post what I've done so far any ways

Tank was a 46 non rr with stand I bought for 75$

Also I haven't been able to find a good
DIY build for a canopy I want the front to bow and be a hinge

Then I got two holes drilled in back 1" overflow and 3/4" return and painted the back with a textured paint coving the overflow and back

I ran into a problem trying to figure out how to make a corner overflow till I saw a VHS stand and converted cut it to make a corner overflow and silicones it in

I made copied my friends overflow PVC outlet stander design and make a critter cover for it it's a flat over flow (no teeth )

I also had to mod the stand. Evasive the 20 long was 1" to deep so painted a 2x8 black and removed the old support and drilled in the new support turned out better than expected

Sorry if not everything is I perfect order my next issue is that I need to squeeze a skimmer into a 5.5" depth of water and 5.5"x10" space I'f I need to move a baffle I will but don't want to of I don't have to... Any ideas

Thanks powers he has done at least have the work on this tank with me in the last month thanks

I also was thinking of cutting Rock to have a flat side to fit right against the back glass don't know if it's a good idea or not considering I would have to make it a permanent scape to do that. I have 120# of dry pukani just don't want to destroy good rock and not like the end product

as soon as you run that light your going to have to put RO in a couple times a day with your tiny return section in your refuge.

I traced the top of the tank to cut out the top of the canopy then I traced the the top of the canopy onto a 2x6 cut two pieces pieces out one for the top and one for the bottom of the bow then walked it with small nails I'll take a better pic tomorrow and post it

With the piece you "bowed", watch it carefully. The wood will dry and "walk" or warp as it dries. I have had it happen SO many time with working with wood. Put some something behind it to hold it in shape. Anchor with a strip of wood or something.
