Well my guilty pleasure has now become my 8 year olds son. His Christmas wish is for a tank of his own with a nem and some clowns. So 2 keep up with my guilty pleasure and my sons wishes I have purchased the black 30 gallon nuvo with matching stand. Upgraded protein skimmer and the dual led strips . I will be assembling the tank tomorrow and with the help of fellow member lovnChely I will be taking a nem , some clowns and other livestock along with water , liverock and sand for a smooth transition to new tank. Photos of tank to follow tomorrow. With this tank and the new 180 build it will be a busy Xmas
 
I got a really good price on mine and after seeing one in Dallas north Showroom I knew it would be perfect for what I wanted to get my kid. The dimmable led strips are really cool
 
Well we got the 30 gallon nuvo in its place in my sons room. As you can see my 1 year old is in charge of the wiring for this project. We will be adding livestock to it within the next week.
 
Our 5 month old has a 30 gallon in his room too. If he ever gets grumpy all that you have to do it go stand with him or sit him in front of the tank and he will watch it for about an hour without making a sound.

That tank is goin to look great!! and I love the room theme...go Rangers
 
Haha. That's pretty funny. It's actually me 9 year olds sons room. The tank fits perfect where we have to pull down his Hamilton picture !

LOL I didnt notice the Hamilton picture. I was not to troubled to loose him but to loose him to the Angles is what made me mad. Oh well at least you have something better to put in its place.

Nice set up. I was looking at one of those in white. If you do not mind can you pm me what you paid for it? I was wanting to compare it to the price I was already quoted. Thanks and I am sure it will be a great looking tank when done.
 
We just bought one in white for our living room - looking forward to having a tank setup again that I can work on.
 
Been Awhile since I posted pictures tank is going great. Currently it has 8 clownfish, one regal tang, yellow tang, tomini tang , some recordias, mushroom rocks. 2 anemone. Since it is my sons tank it takes a back seat to the bigger tank but all is well
 
That's what they say but so far so good. I stay on top of maintenance. I have over 40 fish in my 180 also and it's all good. The only fighting that happens is ocassionally my clowns fight over there spots in the nems

Holy cow that's a lot of fish in a 30 gallon. I wish you the best of luck but I wouldn't want to even attempt to keep up with the water quality in that small of a tank.

What are your future plans for the tangs once they outgrow the tank?

It does look good though!
 
When they out grow it I'm thinking we will put them in the bigger tank . But They still have a ways to go. It's funny I haven't lost any fish out of the tank since it was set up. But I did use live rock and old water out of my big tank and just put it in the Nuvo since it was cycled properly.
