So it's going into week 3 since I moved the tank and all is well for the most part.

I am starting to get to green hair on the walls of the tank so I am cutting back the lighting to 8 hours starting tonight. (on at 10, off at 6).

Water params are good and after a tiny little nitrate spike to 30, it's back down to <5.

I did find an interesting little condylactis growing, so I fed him a piece of a cut up fresh Prawn and he gobbled it up in about 10 minutes.

I am going by the lfs today to pick up some more saltwater, and some food for the inverts.

Damsels, are, well, they're damselling, and the snails and crabs are doing a decent job although I am going to add to them as well. There seems to be either residual gunk from poor maintenance before i got it, between some rock, either that, or some diatome growth in between LR.

Once I hit my magical 6 week mark, if I don't see any signs of a cycle I am going to start shopping for my Occelaris or my Coral Beauty. That is of course provided these 2 water changes I am planning to do don't jack up my chem.

Also, shopping for MH (hqi 250) + T5 kit.

good luck with the tank. i'm sure everything is going to be A OK. after all, if i can do it, anyone can

I T'd the return line from the sump to allow the flow to go both directions.

I plan to stick a couple of those telescopic / bendy return heads on there to direct flow.

Or you can drill several holes on a cap and cap it off. Cheaper that way and you get more dispersed flow..

I did this on all my tank :)

Man I really love your aquascaping it looks great! I'm about to reaquascape my 37 gallon, I haven't been happy with it in general lately and the aquascaping is the main culprit for that.

Thanks,

ya know, I get so many compliments on the scaping, and that's really wonderful and all, but I really just kind of threw it all in there.

The nice thing is, I have about 60lbs of texas "holey" rock, which is a heavy base rock with lots of holes and caves in it.

I have one piece that's about 16 inches long and 6 inches deep and it serves as the foundation for most of my true "live" rock.

I appreciate the compliements. I just wanted something that flows well, and doesn't have dead spots. If you look from the right angle, you can see that there is a cavern that runs the width of the tank, inside the rock scaping.

pretty cool.
