I used to have 2 27" Maxspect Razors on my 300gallon 8' long. It was a predator tank, but the light was amazing.
I just got back in to the hobby and started back with a 30" wide 56 gallon. Right now I have one Current Orbit 30" LED light on the tank (its still cycling, so no rush on lights). But compared to my old Maxspect, it seems a LOT weaker. Granted its a $150 fixture vs a $500 one. But if I were to double up on the Orbits (still only $300 total for 2) do you think i would have enough light for some intermediate corals? Or just ditch my Orbit and shell out the $500 for a Maxspect?
I just want a slim, clean fixture that I can toss right on the tank (not interested in mounting anything on the 18' ceiling above it, lol)
