Well I didn't want to start up another tank so soon...But opportunity for a big tank fell in my lap...

Scott Comstock gave some me some great ideas on the stand so I am excited to see how the stand turns out...Once it's done I am going to consolidate the 150 g and 60 g cube into this tank. So will only have a prop tank and this beast.

It is a 250 gallon Tenecor Teneview tank

Lighting (3) 250 watt Lumen bright running 14k Aquamaxx with (1) Coralvue Electronic and (2) IceCap Ballasts. No actinic supplementation

Main Pump Dart for the return.

Internal flow Tunze Wave Box and 3 vortecs

Calcium and Alkalinity I am going planning to run a MRC dual chamber calcium reactor and have a Reeftek kalk reactor to run with my top off but as of right now just using bionic 2 part

Chiller and Heater Teco 1/3 horspower with in line uv and heater

Controller Everything will be controlled by an ac3 with three dc8's and a dc4hd

I am lucky to have a girlfriend that is supportive with my addiction..I mean hobby

This is the pic of the bottom view of the tank...My camera ran out of memory before i could take anymore pics.

The three dots in the middle are actually on the top of the tank to run three sea swirls.

I am going to paint the bottom of the tank black and go bare bottom.

Just from my experience, that pump is going to be very loud. I've used two pumps on two different systems and had to pull them both off due to the sound level.

It was to the point where it was drowning out the TV. both pumps were operating as they should and were brand new- Genx pcx40

my gen-x pump was not that bad. it did have a whine to it, but that was the fan of the pump, not the motor. right now i have the dart pump and the dolphin ampmaster and i can say they are significantly quieter..can not even hear the ampmaster when the doors are on the cabinet. If you have a well built stand (which it sounds like Scott builds some nice stands), you should be fine.

Pampee

Take this from a guy who had one, acrylic tanks scratch very very easily. Dont let your magnet get anywhere near the sandbed. A few grains of sand and you will have deep scratches from each sweep of the magnet. And anyone who thinks those scratch kits work, call me I have some seaside land in Kansas that I will let go for a very cheap price!

Yeah I am going to go BB on this tank but have a acryilc sump made just for a dsb i am thinking 15 to 20 gallons that will run in series and drain into my main sump/refugium....

Anyone ever use a little giant pump...Want to know how loud they can get too...

The reason i chose genx i can pick up to of them used for $50...I might still pick them up just in case the pump i choose goes belly up in the middle of the night.

wow love the shape. Good luck on the setup. I also bought a used genx pcx-40 great pump for the money. I use eheim now, still have the gen x if you need it. Casey (what a cool looking tank )

I don't mean to sound stupid, but if it has an acrylic top with holes for sea swirls, how do you feed the contents?

not sure what the GenX pumps look like. but here is what some people did to quite a panworld.

I dunno either....i dont have the money for the sea swirls so i did not ask...only thing i can think is that he had three holes in the back for what he said was closed loop...i wonder if ran a hose to each sea swirl ...I will ask him next week when i pick up some pumps..

I vote for the Sequence dart. They are so quiet that sometimes I have to open up the stand to make sure its running. It's an awesome pump and my overflows on the 265 handle it just fine even wide open. My ex pump on my 180 was a big little giant and it was way louder than the Dart.

I agree i own 3 Sequence pumps, and they are all extremely quite. only thing you can hear on my tank is the Beckett Skimmer.

Little Giants are about as loud as Iwaki's. I had one an MD-4 I believe on my Life Reef Skimmer. They also run very hot, or at least mine did.

Yeah mine would almost burn my hand when I touched it...I'm still gun shy when touching the Dart because of how hot that little giant was. I always worried about it catching something on fire. :?
