Here are pictures of my counter top setup. Left to right: 5 gallon sump, 15 gallon, 20 gallon. They are connected with U-tubes. Return pump is a powerhead and clear vinyl line to the 20. The air pump is for the independent 5 gallon ghost shrimp tank on the filing cabinet.

The lights are all I have right now. I will get better ones when I can.

I would appreciate some lighting suggestions. I would like to be able to do LPS and SPS. I could build a canopy for the 20 long and put in 2x24" T5 bulbs but am uncertain about power and color since the coral will be so close to the lights.

when I had my 20g long I had 2x96 watt PCs 2x driven
and 2x39 watt T5s 2x driven.
Kept all including a clam at the bottom, not that the bottom
is that far away in a 20 long.

Yes I know. I just set up a 96w 10k white and 96w actinic. That should be enough right? said:
Yes sir. I currently am running 192 watts of PC on my 17" deep tank and I keep zoas, candy canes, frogspawn, shrooms, ricordia, yumas, xenia, etc, etc.

Well I was finally able to do a search here and found the "recommended" refugium bulb and mail ordered it before getting to the bottom of the thread and finding a local source where I would not have had to pay shipping. Stupid me.

Sorry this thread has links instead of imbedded pictures but I am not going to spend my life resizing my pics just so they fit here. I don't think anyone is looking anyway.

Here is my firefish.

Today I got another overflow box and I got my new refugium light bulb. There is now an overflow box for both the 20g display and the 15g refugium. I find it interesting that I can only run a 160gph and a 174gph respectively from each overflow or the U-tube returns cannot keep up. But with that flow there are not bubbles.

I am going to put two refugium bulbs on the chaeto to do an experiment. One bulb is a 5000k and one is a 5100k. Each will shine onto its own chaeto ball just to see which grows better.

Now that I have the Aquafuge I guess I don't really need the sump or the 15g refugium.

Does anyone know if the Aquafuge skimmer is enough to handle a firefish and chalk basslet?

I got so much response I went ahead and dismantled everything. I set up the 20 independent of the 15 and took the 5 completely out.
