150 gallon fowler

Ok so i have a 54 gallon corner tank at this point and am planing to upgrade to a 150 gallon fowler. What i was wondering is i would like to sell my 54 gallon to earn money for the tank i plan on getting. But i want the live rock for my new tank and i would like my live sand (if that is okay not sure). But how do i keep thoughs alive until i get the tank fully setup which will be months. Also i was wondering what do you think would be a reasnable price for my 54 gallon tank. It is not reef ready i use a fluval 405 and a cpr backpack I would be selling tank stand fluval 405 filter and cpr backpack. What should i ask for it.

No idea on the price but as far as the liverock I think you could get a rubbermaid tub or something smiliar and just make an aquarium out of it. Add lights, powerheads, heater, a filter, etc and I think it would be fine.

what about live sand is it okay to use it again.

If it were me I'd start with fresh sand. If you mix up the sand it can release some nasty stuff. When you get a new tank going just get a cup full of sand from a couple of different people to seed your new sand bed with some critters. Hopefully someone with more experience in doing this will chime in. I have never changed tanks so I'm just telling you what I have been told or have read.

For the sand, I would start fresh as well like SgtHartman stated.

But, if you want to keep your sand. you could leave it in a bucket, and then when you are ready to use it rinse it extremely good (at this point it will not be live) and then seed it with some live sand from different tanks.

but keep in mind, you will be buying more sand to go into a 150. I know with my 150, I have about 200 lbs of sand total in it.
