$15 cleaner shrimp locally

not sure if this is the right forum, or if anyone will even care... but until 7/18 local petcos have skunk cleaner shrimp on sale for $14.99 with a petco pals card.

I have seen this off and on for 19.99 but usually most places seem to want $30+ for them so i'd consider this a pretty good deal. Online style pricing without the shipping expense!

just thought someone might want to know!

good deal, but IMO, it only encourages them to keep SW in subprime conditions. ive paid more yes, but for better livestock to me anyways. you think some of your normal LFS may be bad? check out a petco, it makes you really see how well some of our LFS do at creating a decent living condition for these fish while they wait to be sold.

I agree good price, I have wanted to get those cleaner shrimp; do you think they are safe and well? I don’t know what to look for with shrimp to know if they are in good condition.

Off subject; this touches on an issue I am concerned about. At the location by my house in Grand Prairie the tanks are a mess, but they seem to be doing a little better lately. Should we be supporting/encouraging Petco if they continue to keep poor tank conditions? I feel bad for the fish and wish I could get all of them out of there. I have even advised a customer not to purchase a fish and showed them what to look for when selecting fish. The employee just stood there and listened and then walked away saying they don’t know if it is sick or OK. I asked the employee about their death rate and they did not have any figures but said they sell most before they die! No refunds!

Thanks for the heads up. I know Exotic Aquatics has them for $19.99, plus you get a DFWMAS discount. They have larger ones that are more expensive, not sure on the size at petco.

yeah they were pretty small. I saw them at petco in mesquite. Only other place nearby that sells then is bet boutique, and they are 34.99 there!

The Petco in Grand Prairie has gotten alot better since Joey has taken over that store, He is actually some one that has been in the hobby so he know a little about what he's doing

Why all the hate for the big box stores, reciently I moved a 110 and my lfs decided to close an hour early because of slow buisness, if it wasn't for the new pets smart having saltwater fish I would have been screwed. I have seen pleanty of dead fish at the Nice fishstores around dallas when they recieve new shipments and have seen dirty poorly kept tanks all over the place.
P.s. I called 2 hours prior to ariving at the lfs store telling them I need 50 gallons of salt water for the move and they said they would be open till 7.
