I picked up a couple of small colonies (for free) at a LFS. They were half buried in the sand in the back of the tank. Of course the part that was buried was white and dead. My question is when I frag the branches that have some white towards the base, do I need to frag above the white part...

Ok.. I have a question about my small SPS colony. I unknowningly put it towards the top of the tank when I first got it. I'm assuming it started to bleach, so I moved it down to the bottom of the tank. Most of the branch tips are still colored. The base of all the branches turned white...
